A source tells WYFF News 4 Sports that Kyle Parker will return as Clemson’s starting quarterback this fall. Parker has yet to make his return official. According to Clemson sports information director Tim Bourret, Parker has informed Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney of his decision but Parker wants to make the announcement himself and plans to make a statement through the Clemson sports information office sometime on Wednesday.Parker was unable to work out a contract with the Colorado Rockies by the July 20 deadline that he and his family had set. He will rejoin the Tigers and continue negotiations with the Rockies on a baseball contract.When the Tigers’ two-sport athlete was drafted 26th overall by the Rockies in June, many suspected his football career at Clemson was over. Now, he will begin preparations for his sophomore season.Last year as a freshman, Parker led Clemson to the ACC Championship game.
